The Small Hours is an original fiction universe. This site is part of it. The Provincial Field Records Office, its forms, its clerks, CKDN 1190, the Marrow Lake Historical Society, and every person, place, file and incident here are invented. None of it happened. It is not affiliated with any government, agency or real organisation, and it describes no real person or real case.

The stories are set in an imagined, remote British Columbia, told by people who work the night shift. Locations on file are deliberately vague: nothing here is a real place to go looking for.

Each file opens on the night its story is broadcast. The stories are written and produced by a small team using AI-assisted tools under human direction; narration uses a synthetic voice.
